LEINSTER went down to a late Jacob Umaga penalty but will be pleased their big names came through unscathed ahead of Saturday’s Champions Cup semi-final showdown against Toulon.
Leinster led 14-5 at the break but fell short after a thrilling second half.
Caelan Doris and Josh van der Flier returned to the Leinster side having been out with injury over recent weeks but it was Benetton who started the faster, with scrum-half Alessandro Garbisi sniping over to take the lead on nine minutes.
