James Ratti is the first to admit his “mad journey” to becoming a Welsh international has been “a weird ride”.
Back in 2019, he took the bold move to drop out of professional rugby after having limited opportunities at the Ospreys.
He moved to the semi-pro Cardiff RFC Premiership side with the aim of forcing his way into the regional set-up at the Arms Park.
That’s precisely what he achieved – amid a switch from lock to the back row – making such an impression he was called up to successive Wales squads in 2022.
