Darren Fearn is thought to be Doncaster Knights‘ first-choice as new forwards coach as the Championship club continue to reshape their coaching team.
Following the departure of Steve Boden last month, Lions legend Sir Ian McGeechan has come on board as consultant DoR and mentor to head coach Joe Ford.
And now the Knights are on the look-out for someone to galvanise their pack, Boden’s area of expertise.
Yorkshire-born Fearn, 35, above, played professional rugby for seven years, with stints at Newcastle, Bedford, Saracens and Sale.
The former prop headed up Northumbria University’s successful rugby programme once his playing days came to an end, before being appointed as Newcastle University’s DoR in 2019.
Fearn, from Scarborough, has also been head coach of England Students for a number of years, but hasn’t yet coached in the Championship.
