Long breaks do us no favours – Rayer

Bedford Blues have made a promising start to this season’s truncated Championship but director of rugby Mike Rayer says the lengthy breaks imposed across the campaign have halted their momentum.
The Premiership has just six rounds of fixtures left before the semi-finals but the second tier is only halfway through its season and is set to finish in late May – a month after it finished last year.
Due to the demise of Jersey Reds, clubs have had two fixtures fewer this year with Bedford often going a fortnight between outings and three weeks separating others.
