Pirates game abandoned after serious Grubb injury

Cornish Pirates’ game at Ealing was abandoned on Sunday following an injury to Pirates forward Ben Grubb.
Back rower Grubb was taken to hospital by the ambulance stationed at the ground and so there was not sufficient medical cover for the game to go on.
Ealing led 12-0 at the time, but as the game was only 58 minutes in the result will not stand and it will be replayed.
“He’s moving and okay but don’t know the extent just yet,” said Pirates joint-head coach Gavin Cattle. “The safety of the players is paramount.
