ROSSLYN Park secured a hard-won victory over Esher in a high-scoring home match.
James Cordy-Redden opened the scoring for Rosslyn Park with a try in the eighth minute. Esher responded quickly, with Stan Norman crossing the line at 12 minutes, followed by a successful conversion from Sam Morley. Rosslyn Park then took control, with Jasper Cameron scoring from a maul at 21 minutes, converted by James. Rhys Charalambous and Jack Digby added further tries for the home side at 31 and 35 minutes respectively, before Cameron notched his second try from another maul just before half-time.
The second half began with Esher showing signs of a comeback as Henry Pearson scored a try, converted by Morley. However, Rosslyn’s Charlie Walker soon responded with a try of his own. James Botterill kept Esher in contention with a breakaway try, but Walker’s second try for Rosslyn Park three minutes later extended their lead.
Despite Arthur Ellis receiving a yellow card for Rosslyn in the 72nd minute, the home side maintained their advantage. Conor Ganley scored a try for Esher from a tap-and-go in the 74th minute, but Cordy-Redden had the final say with his second try of the match.
