Sale continued their pursuit of league leaders Rams with a bonus-point win in Darlington.
The hosts enjoyed the better of the opening stages in torrential rain in the North East.
A penalty from Ali Ledingham got DMP on the board, before centre Ben Frankland broke clear from a ruck in midfield to dive over under the posts.
Ledingham converted to extend DMP’s lead to 10, but that was as good as it got for the home side.
