Cambridge turn on style to end Cinderford’s run

Cinderford………….. 12

Cinderford relinquished their unbeaten home record as a clinical Cambridge side took all their scoring chances to leave their hosts in the shade.

Cambridge were strong from the start and they capitalised with an early the kick to cut the gap utes adde try to stun the home side.

Even with Cinderford's impressive defensive mauling effort, once Cambridge shipped the ball out Kieran Frost set up Tom Hoppe with a clear path to the try line. Steff James added the extras.

Cinderford were initially dominant in the set-piece, winning scrum penalties from the first two scrums.

However, it was not long before Cambridge were over the line again as full-back Joe Tarrant danced around the Cinderford defence and popped the ball to Matt Hema, who claimed the five points.

Cinderford spent a great deal of time in their own 22, but they were no match for Cambridge's well-drilled defence.

As soon as the visitors were back in their own half, Hema snatched another try, when he took advantage of gaps in the Cinderford defence.

It was a slow start to the second half, but Cinderford seemed to pick up their pace and make things harder for the away side.

After lots of back and forth kicking, in classic Cinderford style, George Angel snuck his way out the back of a driving maul and over the line.

Cinderford had much more possession in the second half, but Cambridge's defence remained strong.

The home team did, however, manage to close the gap before the final whistle. Man-ofthe-match George Porter picked up and battled his way through a crowd of players and over the line.

Mike Austin added the extras to close the deficit to five points, but there was no denying Cambridge.
