Bishop’s Stort……..36
Darlington MP…….26
BISHOP’S Stortford roared back to claim an impressive comefrom-behind win over Darlington.
Stortford had the bulk of possession and territory in the first half, but Darlington defended well and used the strong following wind well to dominate the scoring.
A great clearance kick by Warren Seals after eight minutes took the visitors 60 metres up field, where a driving maul from a five-metre lineout saw the visitors into the lead through George Shannon.
This was stretched with a penalty by Seals and extended further by a converted try when Paul Jarvis crossed.
Seals converted and added two more penalties, either side of an unconverted Stortford try to Will Roberts.
Stortford started the second period aggressively and soon narrowed the deficit to two points, after a Rory Banks try converted by Alfie Orchard. A penalty try followed when another maul collapsed.
Joss Linney’s bonus point try, again converted by Orchard, took his side into the lead for the first time.
A try from Jacob Wrafter was converted by Orchard after 73 minutes, who also slotted a penalty six minutes later. Seals got a try back at the death for Darlington.
