Students strike to salvage late draw

OWEN Waters nailed a late conversion to see Loughborough Lightening snatch a draw at Ampthill.
The visitors should have taken the lead on 18 minutes when awarded a penalty inside Amps’ 22 and but the penalty was reversed after the referee took exception to something said.
Ampthill led when wing Karim Lynch athletically caught a cross-field kick wide on the right to crash over for the first try.
