Hornets…………………29
Taunton Titans….. 19
HORNETS emerged victorious in front of a bumper crowd in a match which unfolded into an exhilarating spectacle that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
The Hornets got off to a dream start, with Connor Vickery crossing early on. Charlie Carter successfully converted.
Carter then added a try himself, darting over for a try and converting for a 14-0 interval advantage.
As the second half kicked-off, Taunton emerged with renewed vigor.
They were rewarded for their persistence when the Hornets were penalised for repeated offside infringements, leading to a penalty try.
The situation worsened for the Hornets as they were reduced to 13 men following two yellow cards. In a flash, it was 14-14 when Rocky Prowse scored, converted by Louie Sinclair.
Despite being a man down, Hornets weathered the storm and managed to score again through Connor Baker.
But Taunton refused to back down. They responded with a try from Oscar Kolowski to narrow the gap to 21-19.
Aaron Thompson then added a crucial try for the Hornets, and they sealed victory with a penalty from Charlie Carter.
