IN whirlwind conditions Hinckley held off a late surge from Old Reds to take a 19-21 victory at Scotland Lane.
Hinckley opted to play up the slope in the first half into the gale force wind, but despite these natural advantages, Old Reds failed to capitalise despite early pressure.
Hinckley kept the ball tight and it paid dividends when, after some consistent pressure, they spread the ball through the hands and Matthew Gullfoyle went over under the sticks with Alistair Reed converting.
