EXETER University eventually came out on top in a tight encounter against Clifton at Rubber Crumb.
Clifton gained the upper hand early on as Bradley Talbot scored off a maul in the tenth minute. Nathan Chamberlain converted off the tee, the strong wind not fazing the full-back.
Exeter’s discipline set them back in the first half, with Clifton edging over for another try from a penalty advantage in the 22nd minute, Tom Ormsby scoring and Chamberlain again adding the extras.
