Loughborough S….82
Camborne…………….25
AS the second-placed Cambor ne travelled to Loughborough Students, the visitors could be heard saying: “Let’s stick it to the kids”.
However, it was the “kids” that gave them a humbling.
Loughborough shot out of the gate with two early tries from Mink Scharink, converted by Alex Wainwright.
Cambor ne responded with a Aaron Simmonds drop goal, but the students came straight back with tries from Jenson McInulty, Dan Eckersley (two) and Tom Riman. all converted by Wainwirght.
Cambor ne finish the first half with another drop goal from Simmonds and a George Edson try, but it was still 42-13 at the break.
The second half started in similar fashion to the first with Theo Mayell scoring.
Cambor ne came Harry Ho back again through Ben Priddey, before the students began to pull away even further.
Tries from Charlie Briers, Darragh Walsh and Sam Bryan were all converted by Wainwright, who was running the show.
A second try from Priddey gave Cambor ne hope of a point, but the students finished strongly with two final tries from Jenson McInulty and Darragh Walsh, again both converted, to break the 80-point barrier.
