The prop profited from a powerful second half from the promotion chasers, who had been fortunate to go in at half-time in front. Conceding penalties and failing to make passes stick, they trailed 10-0 at the halfhour mark to a converted catch and drive score from hooker Sam Edwards and a penalty from Lewis Minikin.
