A LATE try from Rian Harrison secured a bonus-point win on the road for in-form Wharfedale.
The Dalesmen dominated the early exchanges and finally got off the mark midway through the half. Sustained pressure on the hosts tryline provided Oli Riddiough with an opening, squeezing through under the posts for a converted try.
Field offered stern resistance but were undone on the stroke of half-time when Rob Baldwin emerged from the base of a five-metre scrum to force his way over for a 0-14 interval advantage.
Straight after the restart Dale crossed again, with Oliver Cicogninni claiming his sixth try of the campaign.
The hosts responded well and were rewarded when, following their first spell of real pressure, Liam Parfitt crashed over. Ethan Myers’ conversion reduced the deficit to 7-21
With the game mired in midfield for much of the remainder of the half, Harrison broke out to claim the bonus score with a rare backline move.
Field responded immediately. With just one minute remaining Harry Whitfield gathered the ball on half-way and barrelled his way through for a memorable try.
