Tynedale pressure pays off after late call by ref

A LATE penalty try saw Tynedale claim maximum points in an entertaining basement battle with Hull Ionians yesterday.
The visitors seemed to be heading for victory when they led deep into added-on time, but with Tynedale camped on their line, the visitors offended once too often and referee Dave Charlton’s arm went up for the penalty try. The first half was a ding-dong affair, Lewis Minikin giving the visitors the lead after eight minutes with a try he converted himself.
