This fixture was to settle the division’s best Yorkshire team, and it did not disappoint.
A game that saw the lead flip six times, had ten tries and was entertaining from the first minute-penalty to the last kick from Joe Rowntree, was full of quality rugby and incident, none more pivotal than the dismissal of Otley’s Ben Waddington.
At the time Otley held a slender lead, but Ionians had immediate retribution when they turned the penalty into a Joe Makin try to retake the lead and never looked back.
