Sedgley Park………47
Sheffield……………… 17
A Cash Chilvers hattrick ensured Sedgley Park snared all five points from Park Lane and secured their position at the top of National 2 North.
The Tigers were well ahead after a first quarter where their superiority in the maul earned hooker Chivers his first two tries and Steve Collins added the extras on both occasions.
There were sparks of good play from the visitors and Cameron Catleugh broke and touched down under the posts, Elliot Fisher converting.
Just as Sheffield thought they were back in the contest, Rhys Henderson broke through the middle to add five more.
Fisher reduced the deficit with a try but Jamie Harrison then crossed for Sedge three minutes before the break for a 26-12 halftime score. The second half was dominated by Sedgley Park. Beltus Nonleh broke through, then Chilvers got his third.
Full-back Andy Riley finished the try scoring for the home team on 63 minutes with a wellworked move through the centre, Collins converting all three.
Sheffield had the best of the last quarter with Catleugh scoring in the left corner, but Sedgley’s defence denied them a bonus point.
