A FEISTY encounter saw out the season at Lightfoot Green Lane as Chester won with the last play of the game.
Their early pressure gave them the lead through an unconverted Alick Croft try.
Tempers became heated as there were little altercations throughout the first half.
An unconverted Mike Craven try extended the advantage and kept them in control of the game.
Just before the break, Hoppers were reduced to 14 as Danny Leatherbarrow was shown a yellow card for a late tackle.
