Otley’s day in fierce battle for Dales glory

A LARGE Dales crowd saw Otley pip Wharfedale in a fiercely-contested derby.
Playing up the hill in the first half, Wharfedale edged the early exchanges, with Dan Stockdale running in under the posts on the quarter-hour.
Otley came back into the match, and Dale’s Rian Hamilton was yellowcarded for a deliberate knock-on.
An Otley penalty and a fine break-out try by Oliver Goss put Otley ahead until, on the stroke of half-time, Wharfedale put together a fine running move that enabled Tom Mann to score under the posts.
