Matavesi’s boot proves decisive

JOEL Matavesi kicked 17 points to steer Blaydon to victory over Wharfedale. The excellent kicking from stand off Matavesi kept creating chances to keep the score board ticking over while he also produced an effective display of controlling field position.
As a contest the game was perhaps over at half time with Blaydon having accumulated 24 points with Wharfedale not troubling the scorers.
Blaydon’s first try saw Harry Borthwick crash over and Matavesi landed a penalty seven minutes later.
