RUNAWAY league leaders Caldy racked up their 13th win on the bounce but were made to fight all the way by a game Tynedale.
The result was in doubt until deep into injury time when, after surviving a long period of Tynedale pressure, Caldy staged one last effort to break Northumbrian hearts.
Tynedale made a sensational start as No.8 Scott Powell sent hooker Louis Frankland in for a second-minute try. Skipper Matty Outson converted and added a fifth-minute penalty.
