Just like Sevens in 11-try spectacle

Bury St Eds 46

TWO mid-table teams served up an 11-try feast at Bury.

In an open and flowing game, the damage was done in the first 15 minutes as Bury racked up three unconverted tries.

Scores for Tui Uri, Will Affleck and Mark Kohler put Bury 15 to the good and they never really looked back.

Canterbury certainly contributed to a game that at times resembled a fixture.

Ben Hilton exploited Dwayne Corocran's slip to dive over in the corner to get the City Men's first points, but Bury responded with Sam Bixby rounding off good work by Ashby and Kohler.

Kohler's fine game continued when he picked off Oli Best's laboured pass to sprint 60 metres and send Bury in with a comfortable 29 -7 lead.

Canterbury's hopes of narrowing the deficit were dashed when Kohler and Uri both carried well to set the prolific Corcoran in for a simple try after the break.

With the game seemingly in the bag, Bury lost their shape a little. Canterbury continued to run the ball and were duly rewarded. Prop Sam Kenny was bundled over and, almost directly from the restart, Dan Smart intercepted to sprint 80metres for the score.

There was still time for Bury to score a penalty try, before Aiden Moss replied with a fine run.
