Worthing ……..14 Chinnor…………45
CHINNOR showed why they’re second in the league this season with an impressive seven-try performance to dispatch Worthing.
Still unbeaten after five matches, with four wins, one draw and five bonus points to their name, Chinnor sit just two points behind leaders Taunton Titans after a Jonathan Bentleyinspired performance.
A penalty try got the visitors going on 22 minutes, before Philip Chesters dotted down just four minutes later – Bentley missing from the tee.
He was on target when adding the extras to Kieran Goss’ effort on the stroke of half time, though, with Kemp Price adding a converted score for Worthing in the intervening period.
Jamel Hamilton got Chinnor going ten minutes into the second half, with Bentley again missing from the tee.
But he made amends ten minutes later as he crossed to score himself, before converting to give his side a 31-point lead.
Kiba Richards scored a second for Worthing with ten minutes to play – Matthew Maclean again adding the extras – but it was purely a consolation.
All that was left was for Henry Lamont to finish off the scoring with Chinnor’s seventh try of the game in the 77th minute – Bentley again kicking the conversion.
