Injuries have cursed Northampton Saints’ season and there was no relief on their biggest day of the decade.
Not five minutes had elapsed when George Furbank, making his first start since December, followed James Ramm into the tunnel after a freak accident.
Ollie Sleightholme was already on the field in his first appearance for the club since December and with no George Hendy or Burger Odendaal, it meant a reshuffle behind with players changing positions.
The player Northampton missed most was the gainline-breaking No.8 Juandro Augustus.
