Steve Borthwick has been monitoring the progress of Rob Baxter’s Exeter Chiefs all season and their resurgence could be good news for Henry Slade.

The national head coach was at the Recreation Ground last weekend as centre Slade inspired Chiefs to their semi-final win over Bath and put a stake in the ground for a summer tour spot.
Slade, below, now 33, led the charge as Chiefs rebounded from ninth last season and reached yesterday’s Prem final - showcasing he still has plenty left.
