Phil Dowson hailed his Northampton Saints side for navigating through the early loss of fly-half Fin Smith on route to securing a dramatic victory over Saracens at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Smith was taken off with a head injury inside half an hour and is a doubt for Friday’s Champions Cup clash with Castres.
