Butt, who is challenging for a place in the midfield with internationals Ollie Lawrence, Cameron Redpath, Max Ojomoh and Chris Harris as well as Louie Hennessey, who is in Wales’s squad, has had only 29 minutes of league action this season, including a stint in the back row.
