Rob Baxter believed his Chiefs should have won more comfortably after their 24-14 win at Bristol.
“We started well and gained momentum to subdue the big crowd but our performance was littered with soft penalties in the middle of the field, which gave them easy entries into our 22,” Baxter said.
“We should have wrapped up the game earlier but we made wrong decisions at crucial times. When Stu Townsend was in the sin-bin, we should have taken three points which would have extended our lead and taken a minute off the clock but instead Dan Frost charged away and lost possession.”
