Harlequins confirm seven departures

have confirmed the seven players that will be leaving the club or calling time on their careers over the summer.

Joe Gray is the most notable departure, retiring after his second spell at the club either side of a spell at London rivals , and will now become head coach of Championship side London Scottish.

Meanwhile, -winning lock Matt Symons also calls time on his career as well as prop Craig Trenier, retiring after an injury, and Christian -Williamson and Mak Wilson have also been released.

Hugh Tizard and Huw Jones' transfers to Saracens and Warriors respectively were confirmed earlier in the season, arguably the club's biggest losses having come into form at the end of the season.

Head Coach Tabai Matson said: “First of all, I'd like to thank every one of our seven leavers this summer for their dedication to the jersey during their tenures at the Club.

“Joe, Matt and Craig hang up their boots at the end of the season and should be immensely proud of their careers as professional athletes – a feat so many strive to achieve.

“Hugh, Christian, Mak and Huw have been fantastic during their times with us and I know all will go on to find great success in their next steps.”

Quins finished third in the Premiership table this season, before missing out on the final after Tizard's future club Sarries defeated them 34-17 in last Saturday's semi-final.
