EBBW VALE came up just short for a fourth successive game as Merthyr proved worthy winners.
A much-changed Ironmen side travelled to Ebbw after an impressive victory against Cardiff last week, while the hosts searched for an end to their three-game losing streak.
Merthyr got off to the ideal start in just five minutes. Dan Wall’s try, which was converted by Gareth Thompson, gave the Ironmen an early lead.
