Ampthill ……….42 Glamorgan ……..5

AMPTHILL continued their preparations for the new season with an impressive win in the Welsh capital, registering six tries.

Despite deploying an extended playing group, continuity was no problem for Paul Turner's men as they quickly got on top of their hosts – and ensured they stayed there for the majority of the afternoon.

Will Partington whizzed in for their opener but Wanderers responded quickly, winger Morgan Williams reducing the arrears to two points at 7- 5.

The Dillingham Park side, though, took it in their stride.

Harry Jarvis notched his first for the club before the break, before hooker Matt Gallagher muscled over for number three to establish a healthy 21-5 lead.

It was much of the same in the second half, with Tom Hardwick diving over the whitewash in somewhat dramatic fashion.

Llewelyn Jones barged over from five metres out as Wanderers tired and number eight Paddy Ryan scored late on.
