Salop close the gap ahead of title clash

NEWPORT Salop moved level on points with leaders Scunthorpe as the top two both won, but Scunthorpe failed to pick a bonus point in their narrow 17-15 win at home to Luctonians.
Luctonians came into the game in third placed, eight points behind Scunthorpe, and took an early lead through John Morris’ try, only for Ollie Cole to respond for the hosts, who led 7-5 at half-time.
