Merthyr come roaring back to claim the honours

MERTHYR came from behind to claim an important victory over Bridgend at The Wern.
The Ravens were impressive in the first half as they coped well with Merthyr’s attacking threat, but the Ironmen pushed on and proved too strong in the second half.
After a strong start, Bridgend opened the scoring, courtesy of a well-taken Jamie Murphy penalty.
Matt Silva’s men stuck to their game plan and it almost saw them go into the break with a slender 3-0 lead.
