Barclay, the enemy within for Wales, joins a select quartet

IT’S not every day that the Scottish captain skippers his country against Wales at Cardiff while enjoying a spell playing for a Welsh club – as is the case with John Barclay, left, next Saturday – but it’s not a unique situation.
Barclay, of course, is helping to lead the charge at Scarlets this season where he has become something of a cult figure. But back in 1960 wing Arther Smith – playing for Ebbw Vale at the time – took charge of Scotland at the Arms Park against Wales although there was no happy ending with Scotland losing 8-0.
