Tucker’s hat-trick sends Penallta through

REIGNING champions Penallta were pushed all the way as they opened their defence of the Plate title before finally seeing off gallant Risca 27-19 to reach the second round.
The champions got off to a blistering start, with back rower Cory Tucker, who has been playing Premiership rugby with Cardiff this season, helping himself to a hat-trick to take a 17-7 lead at the break.
