Surreal start for Bedford’s local boy Lane

TRY-SCORER Rich Lane enjoyed a perfect homecoming as he touched down one of seven Bedford tries on his return to Goldington Road.
Bedford had too much quality for their National One visitors as they ran in seven tries, much to the delight of former junior Blue Lane, who rejoined from Jersey in the summer.
Lane said: “It was a bit surreal. I did a bit of ball boying here when I was a lot younger, so it’s nice to be back in with mum and dad and the local area. I’ve fitted in nicely and am looking forward to the year ahead.”
