Laidlaw deserved some respect

ITV introduced Greig Laidlaw to their team of Calcutta Cup pundits with a caption of shameless Anglo-centricity: “Lost each of five Tests v England, twice at Twickenham.”
It would not have sounded quite as condescending had they judged their English pundits by the same harsh criteria.
Jonny Wilkinson could have been identified with the caption: “Lost three English Grand Slam deciders in a row.”
