Blaenavon can’t end Nelson’s stay at the summit

NELSON kept up their slender lead at the top of the National League 1 East Division with a 25-5 win away to Blaenavon.
Victory left them a point ahead of Rhydyfelin who beat Caerleon 38-22.
Captain Lewis Smith got the hosts off to a good start with a try before Liam Watton crossed six minutes later. Jordan Rees was on the receiving end of Ross Lucas’ chip with David Gratton sealing the bonuspoint before the break.
Lucas and Marc Jones capped off the victory in the second-half.
Third place Penallta did their best to keep in touch at the top with a 43-7 away...
