Ealing Trailfinders’ narrow defeat by Leicester in the Premiership Cup semi-final last weekend has blown most of the bogus arguments in favour of ring-fencing out of the water.
Foremost among the ring-fencing fallacies exploded was the nonsense being touted not long ago that the gap in physical conditioning, size, power, and skill between players in the Championship and the Premiership was now so pronounced that second-tier clubs could no longer compete.
