Jeremy Guscott rejects the idea that South Africa and New Zealand are in a class of their own, while praising their compelling rivalry and the world-class talents lighting up the series.

The widespread suggestion that South Africa and New Zealand are currently in a class of their own at international level following the first two Tests of what they call the ‘Greatest Rivalry’ is not a view I share.
For instance, if France were involved it would be very competitive.
Compared with England v Wales it is several levels up, but New Zealand or South Africa against France is very much the same level.
Ireland have also shown on a handful of occasions in recent years that they can beat the Springboks and the All Blacks.
