According to the industrious Alex Sanderson, who will surely be in the running for a senior place in the England coaching team at some point in the relatively near future, the prospect of more Manu Tuilagi rather than less is “dead exciting”.
Sanderson is entitled to his taste in midfielders and in the club context at Sale, you can just about see his point. Tuilagi still scares a few with his route-one rumbling and even in Test rugby, for which, according to his boss, he remains available, he continues to carry the ball a yard or two through the tackle.
