Chris Hewett: An epic drama? No, just drowning in tries
A quarter-final classic”, proclaimed the BBC. Hyperbole? Quite the opposite. As the avalanche of superlatives triggered by Bath’s victory over Northampton Saints in the last eight of the Champions Cup ranged from “stunning”, “spellbinding” and “epic” to “one of the greatest games in European history”, the corporation’s treatment of a story that apparently had everything except sex, murder and the first human steps on Mars was a model of self-restraint.
