Simmonds in form of his life after fearing career was finished

GUERNSEY Raiders fly-half Charlie Simmonds feared his rugby career could be over when ulcerative colitis led to him having his bowel removed but three seasons later, he believes he is playing better than ever.
Simmonds has established himself as a key figure at National Two East outfit Guernsey, who finished 10th last season, after moving to the island five years ago following university in Edinburgh.
But behind the scenes, the playmaker was managing inflammatory bowel disease and during his second season on the island his condition deteriorated significantly.
