Neutral venues must be chosen carefully

I WAS a Tigers supporter at Franklin’s Gardens for the playoff match. I’ve never been there when it was so hostile - some of the Saints fans were booing the Tigers players on to the pitch. However, as ever, they were friendly and helpful to us away fans.
You would miss that atmosphere if the crowd were neutrals attracted only by the occasion.
Perhaps we could learn the lesson from Rugby League before moving the play-offs to neutral grounds. They experimented with moving their Magic weekends,when all the teams play at the same venue, to Cardiff, Edinburgh and Newcastle w...
