GLEE was felt on the sun-baked Macclesfield fields, after the third-placed outfit ran out winners over defiant visitors Wharfedale.
Despite a phase of opening territory, Macc faced issues with finding an early foothold, as only Oliver Longmore’s ninth-minute score was posted to the scoreboard.
Wharfedale resisted well, hitting back with a 21st-minute try when William Bell re-charged home alarm-bells after slamming down a try.
