JUST when you thought the scrum was dying on the ample backsides of its specialist practitioners, along come the Italians – yes, the Italians – to show us the error of our ways. The sight of big green men, Dan Sheehan and Tadhg Furlong of Ireland, shooting out of the front row like rockets and reaching altitudes usually associated with the little green men of Mars, was balm for the rugby soul.
