TALKING of sliding doors moments, I can’t help thinking that one of the many opportunities the WRU have failed to seize in recent decades was not to headhunt cricket’s Hugh Morris for the formal role of CEO, and the unofficial role of spiritual leader.
Morris, below, who lost his battle with cancer earlier this week, is of course best known for his battling qualities as an opener, his outstanding captaincy and leadership at Glamorgan on and off the field and his excellent and successful work with the ECB.
