England lead unofficial world title battle

ENGLAND’S men and women are currently both in first place in an unofficial world title challenge which passes from country to country only after the holder is beaten.
In the men’s game, the title last changed hands in the 2025 Six Nations when England beat France. In the women’s game, England took charge in 2024 with victory over the-then holders Canada and have held it ever since.
